Cape Slepikovsky is one of the few corners of preserved wildlife on the southwestern coast of Sakhalin. In 1995, a specially protected natural area was created - a natural monument "Cape Slepikovsky." And not only because the "Red Books" grow and live here, but also because some species, for example, the Far Eastern carp, have not yet been found anywhere else on Sakhalin. Until 1905, the cape was called Notoro. And in 1934, the Notoro lighthouse was built on the renamed Cape Otoro misaki, which has survived to this day. The cape received the modern name in honor of the commander of Chipisansky group shtabs-captain Bronislav Vladislavovich Grotto-Slepikovsky who was killed death brave in action at defense of the Southern Sakhalin against Japanese in 1905. And of course, you will be fascinated by the extraordinary beauty of this place. In fact, the cape, proudly rising by 23 meters, stands the Japanese lighthouse, built in 1940. This is the last of the lighthouses built during the period of the governorship of Karafuto. (Visiting the lighthouse is not included in the excursion, as it is a protected object)
Further, through the port city of Kholmsk, we go to the absolutely unique place of Sakhalin land - the beach of sivucha, which is majestically located in Nevelsk. This place is unique in that there are only 3 such places around the world - in Nevelsk, Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky and Seattle (USA). Sivuch is the largest representative of the eared family - seals - a small species listed in the red book of the Sakhalin Region and Russia. The body length of males is 2.6-3.9 meters, females - up to 2.6 meters, weight - up to 1100 and 350 kg, respectively. Sivuchi live mainly in the coastal zone. On the sunbed, the sivuchi behave calmly and constantly roar with a long bass resembling a steamboat buzz, their roar is heard several kilometers away.
A lodge in Nevelsk appeared in 1967-1968. Some sivuchi, who sailed past Nevelsk on the bed of Fr. Moneron and into the area of Cape Crillon, loved one of the brequaters of the naval fish port of Nevelsk. The leadership of the port in the 1970s adopted recommendations to ships not to approach the cases and not to give sound signals.

Devil Bridge - A unique railway structure was built by the Japanese in the 1920s. The train route passed through two tunnels and then went to the bridge (popularly called the "Devil Bridge"). The bridge itself is located at an altitude of 38 meters and earlier during the movement of the train it was possible to observe unusually beautiful landscapes of the Sakhalin nature. The "Devil bridge" was considered the most beautiful in the USSR and received name because of the unique engineering solution, it consisted in the fact that the line of the railway track was made in the form of a loop. The bridge was also very famous in Japan because of unusual design.
