Chekhov Peak is a mountain peak, one of the highest points on the island (1045 m). Located near the city of Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk and named after the Russian writer A.P. Chekhov. ora is part of the Susunai ridge, stretching 55 km along the coast. At the time of Karafuto (Suzuya Dake Peak) was a sacred mountain. A temple house dedicated to the sun goddess Amaterasu was built on top, and is still located there. The total length of the route is 11 km, 4.5 km of which is the distance from the foot to the top.
The entire route is divided into six sections. The first four sections are characterized by steepness, so ropes are stretched along the trail. The next two sections are laid along the ridge ridge. The slopes of the mountain are covered with cedar slab and bamboo, and rare plant species can also be found. An incredible panorama opens at the top: the Okhotsk Sea, the Susunai Valley with its lakes Changeable and Tunaychi, Anivsky Bay and Lake Vavayskoye.
